Very high quality even though it's a simple meal. It does not take reservations and there will be a line during lunch. My advice is to get there early, plain and simple. Also, the smaller the party, the more likely you'll get seated on a timely manner. I wouldn't go more than a table for 2, even sit at the bar. This is not a place you go on a whim - you plan for it. I got the katsu and sushi combo and both were great. The space is what you would typically expect, nothing fancy but clean. They understand it's lunch so it's a quick service. Enjoy! less

Came with my daughter during lunch time and was able to get seated right away at the bar area. The food was so good, lunch specials were still on the pricey side but it was tasty. The bathroom was so tiny and not the cleanest so try to use the restroom before coming or after at another location. less

Really good lunch spot in midtown! Very tasty and efficient service too. My miso soup was different to my friend's, it seemed to have been more pimped up with veggies and bacon. My tip is to come here early if you are planning to go for lunch as there were queues after 12:15pm. less

Pleasantly surprised at how much I loved Katsu Hama! There was a bit of a wait on a Tuesday evening right after work (~10-20minutes). Once we were seated, service was pretty quick! They have a price fixe menu which gives your an appetizer, katsu entree, miso soup, and dessert for 30 so I got that! It was delicious and perfect way to try a bit of everything. The katsu tasted delicious, so crispy. Will definitely come back anytime I'm having cravings! less

Decided to stop by this spot before catching a show. Initially when I walked in, it looked very busy. There was a large group waiting in front of me, and at first, the staff seemed somewhat disorganized in how to seat people. But I was quickly mistaken, as they quickly sat the large group a few minutes after I arrived, before seating me and another party right after. I got the pork loin katsu gozen meal. All in all the katsu was very good - crispy yet juicy. And the accompanying miso soup and potato salad paired well with the katsu. Plus the food came out relatively quick, even with how busy everything was. Definitely was not disappointed by this spot - will definitely recommend folks stop by if they're looking for a satisfying casual meal less

Such a good spot in midtown for katsu! Would recommend adding the additional potato salad! Been coming here with my aunt for the past five years and it's so consistent! I'd stick to the katsu and try a different appetizer however (sashimi was a smidge fishy) Cheers! less

The proportion was huge and food was yummy. The pork loin was moist and went well with the curry. I would come back to try other things. less
